Pre School

The pre-school programs at B.C.A provide a Christ-centered, structured learning environment designed to meet the various developmental needs of the young child. Class sizes are small with a teacher assistant in every classroom to ensure individual attention. A variety of learning experiences are provided to promote the spiritual, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of the child. Students build on concept formation through learning, problem-solving, logical thinking, and imagination. A Biblical approach to character development is utilized, focusing on self-awareness, cooperative behavior, responsibility, and self-confidence. Pre-school students attend Chapel services every week. Students regularly participate in leading the Chapel services. Snack and recess times are incorporated into the daily activities. An after-care program is available for students in the K4 half day program for an additional fee.

K-3
The K-3 program is a half-day class meeting three times a week structured for the mature three year-old who has reached their 3rd birthday by September 1st and is potty trained. Theme based learning centers in the class promote social, intellectual, physical, and spiritual growth.  Our Bible curriculum provides age-appropriate learning through the use of units and activities. Opportunities for music, arts and crafts are a regular part of the K-3 experience as well.

K-4
The K-4 program at BCA is a half-day class meeting five times a week for children who have reached their 4th birthday by September 1st. Using a variety of curriculum, various themes are explored through centers such as Construction, Math, and Dramatic Play.  Phonological awareness (songs, poems, rhymes, letter recognition, etc.) helps to lay the groundwork for developing strong readers.  The Bible curriculum uses stories, scripture memorization and songs to support our Christ-centered program. The children enjoy a variety of enrichment classes including weekly Chapel, as well as other special programs.

K-5
BCA offers full-day Kindergarten for students who have reached their 5th birthday by September 1st. With phonics and language development as the basis for the program, children learn the skills necessary to begin reading using A Beka as the primary curriculum. Mathematical skills are developed through numerical understanding, classifications and relationships, geometric shapes, and money concepts using Houghton-Mifflin published materials. A variety of learning opportunities are provided for students to study the world around them through hands on learning activities in science and social studies. Bible lessons are a part of the daily class schedule and serve to reinforce individual character traits. Enrichment classes include music, art, library, computer lab, and P.E. Kindergarten students also have lunch and rest time as part of the day.
