Media Center- Scholastic Reading Inventory

Scholastic's Reading Inventory (SRI) program is used in conjunction with the Reading Counts program at BCA. Students in grades 2 through 4 are tested at the beginning of the school year and periodically thereafter to determine their Lexile Level.

The SRI is a computerized test.  Students log onto the computer, then read short passages of text taken out of actual books. The student then answers questions about the passage.  The questions become progressively harder with each correct answer. If a student answers a question incorrectly, the next question will be easier.

Once the student completes the test, a Lexile Level is determined for the student and a list of suggested books in generated to match this level.
